Wendy Bernett Spann

Mrs. Wendy B. Spann was born on May 22, 1972, in Stamford, Connecticut, to Dorothy Bunch Perry and Sammie Bonaparte. She departed this life leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and service to others. After graduating from Stamford High School, Wendy furthered her education at Katharine Gibbs School, where she majored in accounting. Throughout her career, she worked for several companies, including Spartech Polycast, where she dedicated many years of service. Most recently, she was employed at Silver Hills in New Canaan, Connecticut. Wendy was a devoted member of Union Baptist Church in Stamford, Connecticut. She was also a passionate community advocate who supported House Bill 5818 regarding lost and stolen firearms. Her commitment to helping others extended through her volunteer work with the Bridgeport Rescue Mission, where she helped prepare care packages for those in need. Known for her generous spirit, Wendy truly had a heart of gold. She never hesitated to help others and touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her kindness, warmth, and willingness to give made a lasting impression on family, friends, and her community. Wendy loved traveling, shopping, enjoying good food, spending time at the beach, and attending celebrations. She was often the life of the party, filling every room with laughter, dancing, singing, and taking photos with family and friends. Those who knew Wendy best also appreciated her candid personality and memorable way with words. Wendy was pre-deceased by her mother, Dorothy Bunch Perry, father Sammie Bonaparte and nephew Lamar Hardy. Wendy leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 27 years and true love, Rodney Spann; her children: Tyesha-Linwood (Husband) and Rodney S. Spann Jr- Jasmin Granddaughter Ra’Nya; her sisters, Janice, Kimberly-Claude (Husband), Trina, Tangie- Jesino ( Husband), Nicky and Rishonda; her brother, Kenneth-Adriana (Wife); and a host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were blessed by her presence. Though Wendy will be deeply missed, her love, generosity, and vibrant spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. “A heart of gold, a beautiful soul, and a legacy of love that will never be forgotten.” A memorial service will be held on Friday, June, 12, 2026 at 1:30PM at Union Baptist Church, 805 Newfield Ave., Stamford, CT. Interment will be private
