Shanta Leetiseland Booker, 46, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, surrounded by loving family. Shanta’s dedication to family and caring for others was an inspiration and touched the lives of everyone in her path. Shanta was born on November 3, 1978, in Stamford, CT, to parents Joshua Alphonso Booker Sr. and Diane V. Lane Booker. Shanta was educated in the Stamford Public School system and graduated from Westhill High School in 1995. Shanta previously studied childhood development at Norwalk Community College and worked effortlessly with children. Shanta loved helping and caring for others and continued this service in her longtime career at Macys, Target, and more recently, as a caregiver. The compassion Shanta had for others was evident in the lifelong connections she made with her clients and clients’ families. Shanta especially loved her children, Imani and Joseph. Shanta was proud of every milestone and achievement for her children and always empowered them with unconditional love and support. Shanta loved to cook, spending time with her children and family, and making others laugh. Her presence brought light and joy wherever she went, radiating strength, resilience, and unwavering determination. The love she shared will remain a cherished memory for everyone blessed to have known Shanta. Remaining to cherish Shanta’s memory are her children, Imani and Joseph Jr., her parents, Joshua and Diane, her brother Joshua (Ara), and sister Gwendolyn (Donald), and her grandmother Nettie Williamson. Shanta offered love, encouragement, and support for her niece and nephew, Zanijiah and Kaleb, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Preceding Shanta in death are Rosa Booker; paternal grandmother, Norvell Booker Sr.; paternal grandfather, Robert H. Williams; maternal grandfather, Norvell Booker Jr.; paternal uncle, and Delilah Pirro, paternal aunt. A viewing for family and friends will be held Saturday August 30, 2025 at Graves Medley Funeral Services, 31 Stillwater Avenue, Stamford, CT, from11:00am-1:00pm, followed by a service of celebration from 1:00pm-2:00pm. The family will receive visitors for the repass following the service at The Elks Hall at 33 Mission Street, Stamford, CT. Flowers can be sent to 31 Stillwater Avenue, Stamford, CT.
