Mrs Rosa Mae Carter

Rosa M. Carter affectionately known as “Rose” transitioned to be with her savior on March 16, 2025, in Lawrenceville Georgia. She was born on March 2, 1929, in Montgomery, Alabama. She was the fifth of six children born to the late Harrison Clark and Stellastine Cheatham Clark. Her education included attending Georgiana Training School in Georgiana Alabama. Several years after the birth of her son Willie Hall, Rose relocated to Stamford Connecticut where her second son Richard Carter was born and made Stamford their permanent home. Her employment included Machletts, Electrolux, Clariol, and the City of Stamford. During her employment, she met and made numerous friends. She was also the lone Caregiver for her mother. Rose enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Union Baptist Church, the Phillis Wheatley Temple #1791 B.P.O. Elks and the Alabama Club at Union Baptist Church. During her early years, she was a member of the FTMB Church Women’s Softball league as well as participated in numerous bowling league’s traveling throughout the United States. Rose was an avid baseball fan, with the Mets being her favorite team. There was never a time you visited Rose and there wasn’t a game on her television…. baseball or bowling. She also enjoyed cruising with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; William Clark Sr and James Clark, two sisters: Catherine Nelson and Helen Knight, and two grandsons, Isaiah and Zachary Carter. She leaves to cherish her memory one brother; Charlie L Clark, two sons, Willie Hall (Margaret) and Richard Carter; three grandchildren; Shenika Carson (Michael), Joshua Carter, Benjamin Carter, three great grandchildren, her special guest niece and Connecticut Care Giver, Wanda Rouch and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am followed by a service of celebration at 11:00 am at Union Baptist Church, 805 Newfield Ave., Stamford, CT. 06905, Rev. Dr. Andre Bradley, officiant, Pastor Leroy Parker, eulogist. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
