Mitsous Jean

Mitsous Jean, age 70, of Stamford, Connecticut passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Mitsous Jean was the beloved mother of Mirlande Pressat, Sherley Cassagnol-Dumeny, and Cindy Cassagnol. Mitsous was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on January 12, 1956, she was the daughter to the late Ena Jean louis and late Dieubon Venant. With courage, determination, and a mother’s unconditional love, Mitsous Jean left the familiarity of her homeland/Haiti and came to the United States on April 30, 1987, where she lived in Stamford, Connecticut until her passing. Although Mitsous Jean had limited formal education, she possessed a wealth of knowledge gained through a lifetime of experiences, the challenges she faced, the struggles she overcame, her resilience, and wisdom. In every sense of the word, she earned an honorary doctorate in life—teaching herself, her family, her friends, and those around her lessons that could never be found in a classroom. The majority of Mitsous Jean’s work experience was in domestic services. She spent 16 years in the laundry department at the Mediplex of Darien, in Darien, Connecticut and 8 years in the housekeeping department at Charter Oak Communities; Scofield Manor Home in Stamford, CT. Mitsous took great pride in her work, paid attention to the smallest details and ensured that she treated each patient, client, guest, and visitor she encountered with respect, care, and dignity. Mitsous’ dedication and commitment to her work did not go unnoticed. She was frequently recognized and commended by management for her exceptional work ethic, reliability, and the pride she took in every responsibility entrusted to her. Her efforts earned her the respect and appreciation of management staff as well as her coworkers. While her work was an important part of her life, her greatest pride and deepest joy were always found in her family. Especially her children, Mirlande, Sherley, and Cindy were her heart, her motivation, and her greatest accomplishment. Everything she did, she did with the hope of creating a better life for them. Her love and devotion to her family knew no bounds, and being a mother was the role she cherished most. Above all the titles she carried and all the work she accomplished, being a mother was her greatest honor. In addition to her children, Mirlande Pressat and her husband Jimmy Pressat, Sherley Cassagnol-Dumeny and her husband Jimmy Dumeny, and Cindy Cassagnol, other survivors include her grandchildren, Desmond Dumeny and his wife Alyssa Dumeny, Kiara Dumeny, Tiffany Pressat, Destiny Cooper, Katelynn Pressat, Nylah Bastien, Jeremiah Dumeny, Jasmine Pressat, Josiah Dumeny, Bryson Bastien, Laylanie Dumeny, and Cashmere Dukes. Two great grandchildren, Heavyn Lasko and Amaryllis Dumeny. Nieces and Nephews, Jean Degradala C. Joseph, Serge Gomer C. Joseph, Rose Vermeille C. Joseph, Darline Pauleus, Dadine Antoine, Geralda Antoine, Guertie Venant, Ernscie Cassagnol and Farah Jones a as well as her adored cousin Marleine Cesar, Marie Sultanne Louis whom she loved as a daughter along with a host of great nieces, nephews, Magloire in-laws, and friends. Mitsous was predeceased by her children, Katiana and Kevin Cassagnol. As well as her siblings, Fritzner Venant and Denise Venant, her niece Didine Venant. In addition to her first husband, Frantz Cassagnol and her second husband Edgar Jean. Mitsous Jeans’ life was a testament to love, strength, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to her family. She gave her children her heart, her strength, and everything she had. Her greatest legacy is not only the life she lived, but the lives she touched and the love she leaves behind. Her visitation will be on September 04, 2026, at 10:00a.m-11:00am at Graves Medley Funeral Services, 31 Stillwater Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. Follow by her celebration of life starting at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery; 230 Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford, CT 06905
