Maria Helen Carson

Maria Helen (DaRosa) Carson was born on February 27, 1941 in Stamford, CT to the late Pedro and Helen DaRosa. She departed this life, peacefully at home, on October 18, 2024. Maria received her education in the Stamford Public School System. She graduated from Stamford High School and received her Associates Degree in accounting from Norwalk Community College. Maria was employed by Pitney Bowes as a Payroll Supervisor where she worked dutifully for 39 years, until she retired. On July 8th, 1961, Maria married Eric Carson Sr. and together they raised two children: Eric Jr. and Christopher “Scott.” Maria joined the United House of Prayer for All People as a toddler and worked faithfully for 75 plus years. She served in many different capacities including president of several auxiliaries. Her work in the community with the Jackie Robinson Park of Fame Inc. was impactful and fulfilling to her. Maria was also known for her business acumen, love of numbers and accounting skills. Maria was also well known for her variety of pound cakes and pineapple upside down cake. She also was an excellent seamstress and took great joy in taking lots of pictures! Maria was admired, loved and respected by many and surely her works remain to speak for her. Maria loved her family very much. It was important to her that the family be together, have discussions, and look out for one another. Maria loved and adored her namesake, Karsyn Marie, her one and only great-grandchild. They could often be found reading books, playing on the iPad and watching re-runs of “Deal or No Deal” together. Maria was preceded in death by her husband Eric Carson Sr. Maria leaves to cherish her memories: sons Eric Carson Jr, Christopher “Scott” Carson (Dawnya); grandchildren Meccah Bramhan, D’Aeren Carson and Aliyah Carson; one great-granddaughter Karsyn Bramhan; two sisters Paulina Hutson and Francesca “Chickie” Richardson; one brother John DaRosa (Cecilia); nieces Deidre Hutson, Rose Hutson, Trenet DaRosa and Lois DaRosa; nephews Del Hutson and Dwayne Richardson; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Her special friends include Garland Townes, Dawn Solomon and Shirley Bennett Visitation will be held on Saturday, October, 26, 2024 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM followed by a service of celebration at 11:00AM at House of Prayer, at 202 Stillwater Ave., Stamford, CT. Parking permitted across the street from the church. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Mrs. Maria H.
