Gregory Brian Williams

Gregory Brian Williams, a life-long Norwalk resident, was called to be with our Lord on Friday, March 15, 2024, surrounded by love. Greg was born on September 30, 1959 in Norwalk Hospital. He was the son of Bertha B. Jones and the late Dr. Joseph B. Williams of Norwalk. Greg attended Honeyhill Elementary School where his mother was a teacher, West Rocks Junior High School, and he was a graduate of Norwalk High School. He also attended North Carolina Central University. He loved sports, playing baseball, basketball and football during his early and teen years. Following his time in North Carolina, Greg returned to Norwalk where he held several positions, his last as the long-time caretaker of Congregation Beth El in Norwalk. Greg loved to have fun and enjoyed listening to and dancing to his music. He enjoyed going to concerts and ball games, but most of all spending time with his family. He was quick to help anyone in need and he loved children. He had a special, mischievous smile and was a kind and charming man who was loved by everyone. In addition to his father, he was pre-deceased by his grandparents, a host of aunts, uncles and cousins, including his life-long friend and “brother” Lenny Jones and his brother-in-law Paul Degenhardt. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Marta Williams, son Felix Kingwood, his wife Lisa and their two daughters, Sophiah and Dyani Kingwood; son Gregory Brian Kingwood, his wife Danielle and their four children, Amaya and Jaden Jones, Kamron and Jaxson Kingwood; son Jose Burgos and his children Jose III and Haylee Burgos; son Evin Burgos and his children Tony and Phoenix Rivera, Evin Jr. and Jiraiya Burgos; and daughter Virginia Burgos and her children Nova and Nina Bidon. He is also survived by his sister Cheryl R. Williams and her son Tyler Joseph Williams, his aunt Helen Cook of Annapolis, MD., his uncle Ret. Col. William DeShields of Easton, Md., and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He leaves behind two godchildren Maurice (Mo) Vaughn and Maeghan Channing. Greg was a very special person who will always be in our hearts and remembered by everyone. Visitation will be held on Saturday March 23, 2024 from 10:00AM – 11:00AM followed be a service of celebration at 11:00AM at First Congregational Church on the Green in Norwalk, CT. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Norwalk, CT. Service will be zoomed per the following instructions.
