Columbus Jamar Allen

Columbus Jamar Allen IV was born on February 17, 1989, in Stamford, Connecticut, to Columbus Allen III and Lynell Robertson. He was raised in California, New York, and Connecticut, where his bright spirit and natural charisma were evident from an early age. Affectionately known as “Mally,” Jamar was a man of vision, creativity, and determination. He was an entrepreneur, an author, and a man of many talents who believed in carving his own path. Whatever he set his mind to accomplish, he pursued with passion and confidence. As a child, Jamar was a lovable prankster who kept his family laughing and on their toes. His sense of humor was infectious, and his smile could light up any room. Many of his teachers adored him, recognizing his intelligence, charm, and unique spark. He was smart, talented, funny, and deeply loving qualities that remained with him throughout his life. Above all, Jamar treasured his family. He was a devoted and loving father to his daughter, Legend Allen, and his son, Columbus Allen Jr. V. He embraced fatherhood with pride and purpose. He was also a loving son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and loyal friend. His presence brought warmth, strength, and joy to those who knew and loved him. Jamar was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Gloria Allen; his paternal grandfathers, Columbus Allen Jr., Robert Robertson, and Mott Shelton; his brother, Tyrone Robertson; and his aunt, Terri Robertson. He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Columbus Allen III; his mother, Lynell Jones; his grandmother, Rosalind Shelton; his beloved children, Legend Allen and Columbus Allen Jr. V; his sister, Diamond Allen (Chuka); his brother, Norvell Gadson (Brittany); his nephews, Qua’shyne Powell and Takai Robertson; his nieces, Jayla Robertson, Niam Gadson, and Nova Gadson; his aunts, Kimberly Wright (Nick), Robin Hill (Edward), and Demesha Robertson, all of Connecticut; Rosemary Sumpter and Wilhelmina Bonds-White of South Carolina; Priscilla Allen of Connecticut; his uncles, Harvey Robertson (Barbara) of Connecticut, Frankie Bonds and Daniel Edwards of South Carolina; his great-aunts, Crystal Mitchell-Donald (Alan) of Connecticut and Shanika Mitchell of North Carolina, his great-uncle, John Mitchell (Barbi) of North Carolina and a host of other relatives and dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. Though his time with us was far too brief, the love Jamar gave and the memories he created will remain a lasting treasure. The family of Jamar wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for the prayers, calls, visits, words of comfort, and every act of kindness shown during this difficult time. Your love and support have provided strength and solace beyond measure. Visitation will be held on Saturday February 28, 2026 from 10:00AM - 11:00AM followed by a service of celebration at 11:00AM at Holy Tabernacle COGIC, 2271 North Ave., Bridgeport, CT. Interment will be private
