Christine Jean Abney-Burl

Obituary God blessed this world with the gift of Christine Jean Abney-Burl on November 10, 1961, and called her back home on August 17th, 2026. Christine was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Known for her deeply nurturing nature, she lovingly took on a motherly role to many throughout her lifetime. She brought light into every room with her beautiful smile. From an early age, Christine had the astonishing talent to be able to take a simple piece of fabric and turn it into something worthy of any red carpet. She went on to learn more about fashion and fine-tune her skills by working at some of the finest fashion retailers in the area. There she would create unique window and in-store displays. She also owned her own Goodwill store. This experience would lead Christine to creating Black Pearl Productions, which partnered with those same retailers, and others, to present exciting fashion shows. Our beautiful Christine particularly loved leopard print, and things that sparkled. Indeed, these things represented her heart perfectly. Just like a leopard, Christine was fiercely protective of those she loved and ready to defend in any way she could. At the same time, her joyous, hearty laugh and the special ways she looked at you, hugged you and let you know she was happy to see you. The way she just wanted to make everything beautiful. They way she showed that she cared, loved, and appreciated you. The way you knew she was proud of you, without her having to say it with words. In these ways, Christine sparkled brighter than any diamond on Earth or any star in the sky. Her presence made this world a lovelier place. Her absence is deeply felt. It is comforting to know that Christine was welcomed into heaven by her father, Andrew Abney, her mother, Mary Jane Wilson, her brothers, Andrew Abney and James Abney and her nephew Alex Lamaar Jordan. To continue Christine’s memory and legacy on Earth are her brother Alex Jordan, who was also her long-time care provider, her sisters, Barbara Davison and Cynthia Ratchford, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. “Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards” Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 from 10:00AM – 11:00AM followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00AM at Graves Medley Funeral Service, 31 Stillwater Ave., Stamford CT Interment will be private
