Lillie Mae (David) Palmer, age 82 of Chesterfield, VA passed away on Saturday, Oct 3rd, 2020 peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born September 13th, 1938 in Garnett SC, she is the firstborn child to the late Curtis and Pernell (Howsie) David. Lillie Mae moved to Stamford, CT in 1953, attended Stamford High School and later worked at United States Surgical, Johnson and Johnson, and Stamford Hospital as a Home Health Aide. In 1957 she married John Palmer Sr, and to this union they bore 6 children. Lillie Mae loved working in her vegetable garden and planting flowers while singing her favorite song, "Going Up Yonder." For 53 years she was a member of The Holiness Church of God For All People in Stamford, CT. under the leadership of the late Overseer, Bishop Henry Simmons. She was often requested to sing her favorite solo "Peace in the Valley." God, family and friends were her number one priority. Lillie Mae had a heart of gold and to know her was truly a blessing. Lillie Mae leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Melvin Palmer of Bridgeport, CT and Tony Palmer of Richmond, VA; one daughter, Althea (Kevin) Taylor of Chesterfield, VA, Kevin being more like a son to Lillie and one who treated her like she was his mother; three brothers, Curtis Davis Jr. of Stamford, CT, Charles David of Richmond, VA and Daniel Curtis Eady of Savannah, GA; three sisters, Ethel Woody of Stamford, CT, Henrietta Bostick of Bridgeport, CT and Betty Strickland of Stratford, CT; one aunt, Ann fields of Conyers, GA; one God-sister, Gloria Simmons (John) Noble of Stratford, CT; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, Lillie Mae was predeceased by two sons; John Jr. and Kenneth Palmer; one daughter, Gloria J. Palmer; two sisters; Carrie David and Leola David and her father and mother in law, Shellie and Georginia Palmer. The family would like to give thanks to the following: Kevin Taylor, Davita Dialysis, Chippenham Hospital, Johnson-Willis Rehab and all the doctors, nurses and aides and Christina Lewis from Encompass Care Hospice. A celebration of Life service will be held Monday, October 12, 2020 at Wilson Memorial Church, 164 Richmond Hill Ave., Stamford, CT. Officiated by Bishop John L. Noble. Visitation 10:00AM - 11:00AM, Celebration of Life at 11:00AM followed by Interment at Woodland Cemetery.
