Dorothy E. Robinson

Deaconess Dorothy E. Robinson, of Arlington, Texas entered into rest on Sunday, August 14, 2022 after an extended illness. Dorothy was born in Jacksonville, Florida on July 19, 1935, daughter of the late Vera Coley Nix, and stepdaughter of the late Emanuel Nix. She was predeceased by her husband Deacon Cornelius Robinson and son, Claude Wesley Robinson. She was a resident of Stamford, Connecticut for 75 years before moving to Arlington, TX in 2020. Deaconesses Robinson was a charter member of Greater Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church for 60 years. During these years of stewardship, she served in the following positions and was an active member: - Church Treasurer- Pastor’s Assistant- Church Secretary- Missionary Ministry- Mass Choir- Black Heritage Choir, Deaconess Robinson served under the following ministers of Greater Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church: Reverence William Lee Baxter (1962 – 1971) Reverend Lorenzo M. Robinson (1971 – 1985,) Reverend Craig Scott Brown (1986 – 1994), Reverend Johnny C. Bush (1996 – Present). Additionally, Deaconess Robinson served as the Treasurer and Financial Recording & Corresponding Secretary of the Women’s Auxiliary Division of the Connecticut State Missionary Baptist Convention for 40 years. Also, she served as Co-Chair of the Parent’s Annual Convention Banquet for 15 years. Cherishing her memories are her beloved children, son Christopher N. Robinson (Amy) of Colchester, Connecticut; daughters Denise M. Robinson and Kimberly R. Robinson of Arlington, Texas, daughter-in-law; Donna M. Robinson (Wesley) of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Christian A. Robinson of Stamford, CT, Jalen C. Robinson, Jayden I. Robinson, Jaisa L. Pinnock and Isobel M. Carroll of Colchester, CT; Godsons, John M. Anderson of Middletown, CT and Richard K. Anderson of Washington, DC; sister-in-law Daisy Robinson of West Haven, CT; very special friends, Mae Anderson, Barbara Holston and Antoinette Zamora of Stamford, CT and Mary H. Williams and Margie L. Dell of Arlington, Texas and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and the Greater Faith Family. God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb, and so He closed those loving eyes, and whispered “Peace Be Thine.” Visitation will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM followed by a service of celebration Saturday August 20th at 10:00AM at Greater Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church, 27 Baxter Ave., Stamford, CT. with Rev. Johnny C. Bush officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Darien. Services entrusted to Graves Medley Funeral Services
