Betty Winn Rice Betty Winn Rice, age 97, transitioned peacefully on January 14, 2019 at Stamford Hospital. She was born in Stamford, Connecticut on June 29, 1921 to the late James Winn and Theresa Marion Winn. Mrs. Rice was predeceased by her husband George W. Rice, Jr. She graduated from the University of Bridgeport and attended Sacred Heart University. For over thirty nine years Mrs. Rice and her husband George W. Rice owned and operated Mountain Top Child Care Center of Stamford, CT. Her legacy of love will be treasured by her sister in law, Catherine Winn and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends. Mrs. Rice was also predeceased by five sisters and four brothers. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. followed by a service of celebration at 11:00 a.m. at Union Baptist Church, 805 Newfield Ave., Stamford, CT with Rev. Dr. Robert W. Perry officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park. Services entrusted to Graves Medley Funeral Services.
