Obituary of Venus Starlit Stewart Jawad On July 7, 2023, God in His infinite wisdom decided to graciously take His servant, Minister Venus Starlit Stewart Jawad home to glory. Minister Venus was born on November 2, 1965, in Norwalk, Connecticut to Mr. Tyre and the late Mrs. Beverly Stewart. She was reared in a Christian home, where she learned to love the Lord at a tender age, as she attended services with her family and saw her parents live as witnesses of God’s grace and mercy. It was no surprise that she would make the ultimate decision to receive Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior. As a young child, Minister Venus was educated through the Norwalk School system until she graduated from Brian McMahon High School. Venus attended Tuskegee Institute where she pledged to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority USA Inc. She later transferred to Norwalk Community College where she graduated with an associate degree in technology. As a native of her community, she worked for Cable Vision in Norwalk, Connecticut. God would have it that the pledge she made to be community conscious and action oriented could be seen by how she poured her heart and soul into the Church and creative arts ministry with children. Minister Venus was baptized under Rev. Dr. Richard H. Wood at Grace Baptist Church, where she was discipled for the earlier parts of her life. During the early 1990’s Minister Venus found her passion as she attended a camp retreat and began learning about the Puppet Praise Ministry. She was inspired by Rev. Dr. Christopher Glover who helped her to see the beauty and benefits of the Ministry of Arts. She formed the Creative Art Ministry at Grace Baptist which included Mime- (Sword of the Spirit), wrote and directed plays and etc. Despite Minister Venus’ bout with Lupus, she continued to share her gift in the Body of Christ through the Sacred Arts. She directed the Puppets of Praise for many years and continued in the Ministry of Mime, Dance, and Drama. She was led to New Vision International Ministries pastored by Rev. Derek Calhoun until her ministry partnered her with the Church of Love in Bridgeport, CT. For this reason, it is no wonder that God called Venus to the Ministry of Preaching. In 2018, she preached her Initial sermon at West End Tabernacle under the Reverend Alfred W. Jones III. She taught Bible Study and proclaimed her last sermon on May 20, 2023, as her health issues began to rapidly progress, but she remained faithful to her Pastor and the ministry of West End Tabernacle CME Church. Throughout her sickness, Minister Venus always persevered through the highs and lows of ailments, loving relationships, and ministry. In the words of her children, God’s perfect providence was guiding their mom’s life as she was able to be a witness in dialysis and hospital rooms throughout the state. She died on the seventh day of the seventh month in the year 2023- the numbers that equal 7, the number that reflects God’s finished work. She died in perfect peace, and her life was complete in God alone. Minister Venus is preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Jean Stewart, and her brother, Tyre S. Stewart. She leaves to cherish a number of remarkable stories and miracles that proclaim God’s goodness to her father, Tyre P. Stewart, two children Beverly and Shabbir, three grandchildren, Saige, Korbyn Chappell and YaYa, her sister, Bernita Washington (Rev. Dr. Carl L. Washington, Jr.), husband, Thomas Moales, daughter-in-love, Nequea Coleman, nieces and nephews, her aunt Corliss Jean Booker (Terry), her uncles, Robert and Lewis Stewart, her special cousin, Paul Stewart, a host of cousins, family, friends and loved ones. She furthermore leaves to cherish her memory her loving Honorary Sons, Marquis, Alfredo, Kai, Courtney, Rai, Christopher, and many more friends and loved ones. “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9 Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 18th, 2023 from 10:00AM - 11:00AM followed by a service of celebration at 11:00AM at Grace Baptist Church 17 West Ave., Norwalk, CT. Interment will be private.
