Sharon Louise Dumas-McCulley

Sharon Louise Dumas-McCulley Ma, Mama, Nana, Shaddy Sharon Louise Dumas-McCulley, affectionately known as Shaddy, answered life’s call on July 2, 2025. Born on October 27, 1955, in Stamford Connecticut to the late Minnie R Dumas and Leon McCulley Sr. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate an extraordinary life filled with love, laughter, and a spirit that touched everyone who knew her. Shaddy was known for her loving and strong personality, she was always stubborn, bold, direct, and unafraid to speak her mind but yet compassionate, and known for her fried chicken and potato salad. Her heart was as big as her smile. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. Shaddy was a former member of the United House of Prayer for all People, where she attended for many years as a young adult. Due to health challenges, she faithfully attended virtual services with Rebirth Healing & Deliverance Ministries. She often said don’t worry about me God got me! She made it known that no matter what she was going through physically that she loved Jesus! She worked as a security officer and a childcare worker. She loved babysitting and taking care of her grandchildren. She had a nickname for all the children that were entrusted in her care. Shaddy was predeceased by her parents, Minnie R. Dumas and Leon McCulley Sr. and her brother Willie L. Dumas. She was also predeceased by her dear friend Marc Johnson, the father of her youngest daughter. She leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved children Schlonda Razor (Charles), Marquita Johnson of Stamford Connecticut and Tanesha Owens (Michael) of New Castle Delaware. Her sisters, Darlene Dumas McCulley of Bridgeport CT, Crystal McCulley Malone of Greenwich Connecticut, Leona (Renee) McCulley of Stamford Connecticut, Gail McCulley of Sterling Virginia, Detri McCulley Andrews (Denzil) of Compton California and Deborah (Debi)McCulley Buckley (Larontae) of Winchester California. Her Brothers Daryl (Popsie) Dumas and Kenneth Dumas of Winston Salem North Carolina, Robert McCulley Sr, Darian (Scotty) McCulley, Richard Edmonds (Carrie) of Stamford Connecticut and Leon McCulley Jr of Norwalk Connecticut and her stepmother Marian McCulley of Bellflower California. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Shiquoya, Ebony, Joshua, Charles (Tre), Tiara, Zuri and Akeem and great grandchildren Iyanna, Eva, Major, Tre, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Shaddy also leaves to cherish her memories Michele Johnson who she affectionally calls her sister-in-law, Ladray Wilks who she adopted as her nephew, and her cousin Hattie Jean Flood. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. "God saw the road was getting rocky, the hills were hard to climb. He gently closed her loving eyes...and whispered, Peace be thine". Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025 from 10:00AM – 11:00AM followed by a service of celebration at 11:00AM at Bethel AME Church, 150 Fairfield Ave., Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Stamford
