Rosalee Tavine Gordo

Celebrating the Life of Rosalee T. Gordon August 30, 1984 – August 25, 2026 Some lives are measured by years. Others are measured by the people they touched, the courage they carried, and the lessons they left behind. Rosalee T. Gordon lived a life that cannot be fully captured by dates alone. Rosalee was born on August 30, 1984, in Buff Bay, Portland, Jamaica, to Enid Miller and the late Jerome Gordon. She arrived in the United States on September 11, 1989, was raised in Stamford, Connecticut, graduated from Westhill High School, and later made her home in Shelton. Rosalee was strong, independent, caring, adventurous, generous, talented, disciplined, lively, and personable. Though reserved with her deeper emotions, she had a presence that left a lasting impression. Her family knew her as someone they could lean on in times of need, while friends described her as incredible, inspirational, and genuine. In 2006, Rosalee joined the United States Army, beginning a 20-year career of service, leadership, and sacrifice. She rose to the rank of Master Sergeant and served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Throughout her career, she earned numerous military awards and decorations in recognition of her dedication and honorable service. Outside of the Army, Rosalee was a gifted artist who loved drawing and painting. She enjoyed traveling, embracing new experiences, and spending time with the people she loved. Rosalee was also someone who gave direct, honest advice. She wanted the best for those around her, especially her nieces and nephews. She encouraged them to set goals, pursue them with determination, celebrate their accomplishments, and never forget to enjoy the journey along the way. Rosalee transitioned from this earthly life on August 25, 2026. Her absence leaves a deep void, but her impact remains in the lives she touched, the people she inspired, and the family she guided. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerome Gordon. Rosalee leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother, Enid Miller; sister, Pavine Gordon; brother, Steve Smith Jr.; nephews, Shamar Smith, Roger Francis Jr., and Saint Smith; nieces, Danica Francis and Saraia Smith; aunt, Althia Miller; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and loved ones. As her family entrusts her to God, they do so with pride in the life she lived and gratitude for the love, strength, guidance, and memories she leaves behind. “Enjoy the journey, the destination is a lie.” Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2026 from 10:00AM - 11:00AM followed by a service of celebration at 11:00AM at Bethel AME Church, 150 Fairfield Ave., Stamford, CT.
