Obituary In Loving Memory of Maureen S. George Sunrise: May 30, 1987 Sunset: February 15, 2023 Maureen S. George (AKA Mo, Nanoh) as she was affectionately called by everyone, was called from labor to rest due to a very long protracted illness, on February 15, 2023, in Stratford, Connecticut, USA. Maureen was born on May 30, 1987, in Brooklyn University Hospital, Lenox Road, Brooklyn, NY unto the union of Morris S. George and the late Annie M. Richardson. Maureen received her early education in both kindergarten and primary schools in Brooklyn, NY, and later obtained her high school diploma at Central High School and her Associate Degree from Rhode Island Community College Respectively. Maureen had a special passion and love for children. As a result, she furthered her education and received a certificate in childcare development with the hope and dream of establishing a Child Day Care Center. Notwithstanding Maureen’s dream would become a reality indeed when she relocated and rejoined her best friend and Foster Mother Miss Kiesha Hillaire in the Constitution State of Connecticut. Miss Hillaire who works in the health field was very excited and proud of Maureen’s achievement and was encouraged and decided to go to school for the same certificate in Childcare Development with the sole intention of partnering with Maureen to open a Childcare Center. Indeed, they did a little over two years ago. They were able to put their resources together and open a daycare called The Little Rainbow Daycare Center, LLC now located at 358 Center Street, Bridgeport, Connecticut. This is where Maureen worked as assistant manager and co-owner. Sadly, early this year, after Maureen was successfully selected as a candidate for a kidney transplant 2 years ago her health declined and she was also a constant dialysis patient. Most recently she was hospitalized in early January and February. Maureen’s ailment was very severe and could not be overcome and on February 15, 2023, the Lord called her from labor to rest. Maureen (Mo, Nanoh) hailed from the Richardson Family, the Dossen Family, the Sherman Family, the Kiahon Family, and the Manorby Family. Maureen leaves to treasure her heartfelt memories of her father Morris S. George, three sisters: Radiatu George, Thelmolina (AKA) Thelina George-Foster, Tiffany Reeves; seven brothers: Morris Jr. Prince, Lorenzo, Maxwell, Sensee, Clovis Reeves, and Joseph Reeves III. Maureen also leaves to mourn a great host of relatives, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, both in the United States and in Liberia, West Africa. Maureen was a lovely person; her sympathy went beyond the boundary of her interest for the loving care and respect she touched everyone with. She enjoys spending time with children, her nieces, and her nephews. Laughter and joy were key to her heart. She was able to befriend people from different walks of life with her welcoming smile and lively energy. Certainly, many will miss her, but Jesus loves her best as she takes her rest. May her soul Rest in Peace, and may light perpetual shine upon her, and the early departed. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00AM at Graves Medley Funeral Services 31 Stillwater Avenue, Stamford, CT. Burial will be private. Prayer for the family: Rev.
