In Memory Of Lawrence Edward Jordan Sr. (A.K.A. Larry) Passed February 27, 2023 Born July 22, 1948 Larry’s Obituary After a long-term illness, our beloved father/husband Lawrence Edward Jordan Sr. (Larry) of Stamford entered fully into the presence of the Lord and Savior on February 27, 2023 peacefully at The Stamford Hospital at the age of 74. He leaves behind his wife, Martha Jane Jordan, 3 sons; Lawrence Edward Jordan Jr., (A.K.A Taj Dayami), Barry Joseph Jordan, Garry Richard Jordan, and 1 daughter Trina Marie Jordan-Britt. Larry was born on July 22, 1948, in Stamford CT to father Joseph “BeBe” Jordan, and Mother Irene Norfleet who both predeceased him. Larry was a lifelong Stamford resident, where he attended Stamford Public Schools, and went on to work for Clairol, The Stamford Housing Authority, and his most beloved job was the Laidlaw Bus Company/First Student where he worked for 30 plus years. Larry loved that job, cared for generations of students and all of the parents/kids he interacted with every day on Bus #77. Larry also was a sports enthusiast. He loved his beloved New York Jets and New York Mets teams! You could often drive by Scalzi Park or Cummings Beach and see Larry out there watching a baseball game, or even in his younger days playing softball or basketball. Larry would later serve as the Commissioner for the Stamford Youth Basketball league as well as the Jackie Robinson Little League Baseball. Larry absolutely loved to sing and was a lover of great music! He had belonged to various choirs over the years, such as The Faith Tabernacle Young Adult Choir and served as Director for the Male Chorus. Larry lived his life laughing and smiling he was always up for a good laugh and fun to be around, and we will miss that big personality! Larry is survived by his loving wife Martha of 42 years, his 4 children Lawrence Jordan Jr. (Taj), Trina Jordan-Britt (son- in-law Ernest), Barry Jordan (daughter-in-law Shyron), and Garry Jordan. Eight grandchildren; Janay Jordan, Kailen Kidwell, Justice Britt, Ernest Britt Jr., Micah Jordan, Evelyn Watson, Xavier Jordan, and Avery Jordan. He’s survived by two sisters and 2 brothers Victoria Jordan (Decca Corley), Shery Neal, Darrell Jordan (Denne), and Bruce Bardliving. He was also predeceased by his brother Joseph “Dingy” Jordan, and Grandmother Josephine Talbert. He also leaves to cherish a host of nieces and nephews as well as family and friends. Funeral service will be held at Community Baptist Church 174 Cherry St. New Canaan, CT 06840 on Wednesday March 8 viewing at 11:00 am and service at 12pm (noon). The family would like to thank Karen Graves-Medley and her staff for their exemplary service, as well as the Stamford Hospital through this trying time. We also want to express our gratitude to all of our family and friends for the out pouring of love shown for our dear husband and father. 2 Corinthians 5:8 -We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
