Kenny Salley

Kenny Salley, 62, of Bridgeport, CT passed away peacefully on March 2, 2024, at Bridgeport Hospital. He was born on August 8, 1961, to the late Hilderine Salley and the late Louis Moore. He is survived by his siblings: William (Jennifer) Salley of New Haven, CT; Anthony (Angela) Moore of Windsor, NC ; Frankie (Beverly) Salley of Charlotte, NC ; Eric (Fonda) Salley of Norwalk, CT ; Anthony Alexander of Bowie, Maryland; Donald Alexander of Stamford, CT; Vernon Smith of West Haven, CT; Inez Richards of New London, CT; Bernadette (Brian) Christie; Felicia Alexander and Carol Alexander of Stamford CT ; Demetria Calloway of Bridgeport of CT. Kenny also leaves to cherish one uncle Herman Salley of Florida and one Aunt Rosemary Salley of Orangeburg, SC. He equally leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, his god son Anthony Hinton, his special sister Crystal Ramos and his special aunt Mary Jones. Professionally, he was well known from his time at Joe’s Meat Market in Stamford, where his profound sense of humor and candor made everyone look forward to their weekly visits. Kenny would lend a helpful hand to anyone in need and always made sure his family knew he loved them. His absence leaves a void in our lives, an irreplaceable piece of our family puzzle. In honor of Kenny, let us remember not the sorrow of his passing, but the joy and love he brought to our lives. Kenny lived life on his own terms and always found a way to smile and make everyone around him laugh. He will be remembered for his entertaining personality, his comic outlook on life and his favorite idiom, “word.” We love you, Kenny. Kenny was predeceased by his mother, Hilderine Salley and his father Louis Moore, his two sisters Agnes Salley Magennis Hayes and Jan Lee Salley; uncles Harold, Lowman and Donny Salley; aunts Addie Brewer and Marrise Pearson; and his nephew Terrance Richards. Visitation will be held on Saturday March 9, 2024 from 11:00AM - 12:00PM followed by a service of celebration at 12:00PM at Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Grove St., Stamford, CT. Interment is private.
