THE LIFE OF KENNETH ANDREW JACKSON On July 5, 2024, Kenneth “Kenny” Andrew Jackson surrounded by family departed this life and entered his eternal rest. Born on September 30, 1963, in Norwalk, Connecticut, Kenneth was the son of Mary Ann Jackson Boyd and the late Hope Dickerson. Raised by his mother and stepfather, the late Postell Boyd Jr. Kenny was educated in the Norwalk Public Schools. Following high school, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed overseas serving his country until his honorable discharge. He later worked in the Hospitality Department of the Veterans Hospital where he loved to help his fellow veterans. Kenny had a remarkable ability to connect with people, finding common ground and shared experiences, such as his time at Fort Campbell. These connections often led to deep conversations about the military, life, and his incredible family. His talent for writing poems and short stories touched the hearts of many, offering lifelines during tough times. His humor and infectious smile could light up any room, making everyone's day brighter. Despite the distance, Kenny maintained strong relationships with friends and long-distance family, showing a steadfast commitment to the relationships he valued dearly. To his family, Kenny was a pillar of love and strength. His love for his family was evident in everything he did. He drew strength from his prayerful family and his personal relationship with God. Kenny's passion for poetry, music, movies, and the theatre revealed his eclectic tastes and profound appreciation for the arts. He was a true foodie, enjoying both eating and cooking, and often shared one of his favorite dishes Mexican casserole with friends and loved ones. An avid reader and writer, his love for literature was matched by his love for nature, finding peace in walking outdoors and drawing inspiration from the world around him. Kenny's wisdom and strength were evident in his ability to stand up for others, embodying character, integrity, and the fruit of the spirit. His kindness and compassion extended beyond his immediate circle, always ready to help friends, family, and even strangers. Kenny's love for music spanned various genres, and his appreciation for music was intertwined with his love for knowledge and the impact of culture on himself and his community. As a renaissance man, he was always exploring new ideas and embracing the richness of cultural experiences. Kenneth is survived by his mother Mary Ann Jackson Boyd; his children, Kindrea Jackson, Keiante Fox, and Kyreih Jackson; brother, Eric Boyd; grandchildren, Kintrell Porter, Miana Jackson, Londyn Barr, Edward "EJ" Walker, Khalil Alford-Fox, Tariq Fox, London Fox, Azaria Fox, Kyreih Jackson Jr, Ky’anne Jackson, and Dallas Jones; special nieces whom he referred to as his sweeties, LaShunda Jackson, April Jackson, and Whitney Jackson, Areyona Patterson, Hailey “The Rain” Patterson; and nephews, Hunter Jackson and Saint Jackson, along with a host of other relatives and friends. Kenneth was predeceased by his sister, Darlene Jackson; grandfather, Atlas Jackson; grandmother, Annie Mae Jackson; and aunts, Betty Bines and Lillian Williams. We will forever cherish the memories of his presence, wisdom, courage, and the way he made everyone feel special and loved. Kenny was a true joy, a teacher, and a student, sharing his wisdom and experiences, and always learning and growing from the world around him. He was an inspiring and prolific man, whose legacy will continue to motivate and uplift us all. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 10:00AM - 11:00AM followed by a service of celebration at 11:00AM at Calvary Baptist Church, 21 Concord St., Norwalk, CT. Interment will be held Monday, July 15, 2024 at State Veteran's Cemetery in Middletown, CT.
