Brenda Lyles Sanderson

OBITUARY Brenda Lyles-Sanderson transitioned into eternal life on Monday, October 16, 2023. Brenda was born on April 21, 1954 in Gaffney, South Carolina. When Brenda was nine years old, she relocated to Connecticut, with her mother, Grace. Brenda adored her precious husband, Eldridge, and the feelings were mutual! They were known for their deep love and respect for one another. They spent their retirement days together enjoying trips, afternoons at the beach, and time with family and friends. She cherished her son, daughters, and grandchildren. The joy of spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren was a highlight. Brenda was known for her infectious smile, warm personality, and a positive disposition. Family and friends were deeply important to her. She maintained strong bonds of love and made sure you knew how much she loved you. She also had a special affinity for goats. For several years she worked as a bank teller in Darien and volunteered weekly in her community. Brenda also held the position of Church Clerk at Union Baptist for many years and she was an active member of the “Autumn Gold” Senior ministry. When visitors came to see her at the nursing home, she’d often ask, “How many are there?” She wanted to spend as much time with as many as possible. She would comfort her visitors by reassuring them, “Everything will be alright.” Brenda is survived by her cherished husband, Eldridge Sanderson of 38 years; one son: Lyle E. Sanderson; two stepdaughters: Miraunda L. (Mark) Bloedorn and Melanie F. (Anthony) McCoy; and eleven grandchildren, nephews and cousins; Beloved ones; Judge Gary White, Karen Graves Medley, Helen F. Ray, Brenda J. Ray, Jackie (Ricky) Ray-Edwards; godchildren: Anthony and Kelsey Edwards, Rochelle Dais, Crystal Dais, Kaitlyn Dais, Justin Brown, Brandon Brown. Delcine Charles, Chelsey Charles, godchildren: Kahleel Charles, Kaden Charles, Kadeem Charles and many other extended family, friends and godchildren whom Brenda loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Lyles, and her sister, Gloria Littlejohn. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11:00AM at Union Baptist Church, 805 Newfield Ave., Stamford, CT., Officiant, Reverend Dr. André L. Bradley, Senior Pastor Inurnment will be private.
